        Andrew Johnson was the only Southern Senator who stayed loyal to the Union, and that brought him to the Vice-Presidency on the Union Ticket in 1864 with President Lincoln, which led to his ascent to the Presidency and then having to escape death threats and impeachment. Elisa was a strong figure in his life, but always in the back ground. They were the "First Couple" who married at the youngest age and Andy Johnson did something that no other ex-President did.  His whole political career, through many, many storms was guided by his unwavering belief in the Constitution.  An exciting, eye opening show about an almost forgotten President.
